On Thursday night, November 10, Evelyn Langston, Leticia McGruder, Brian Parrish, Jason Robles, Charlie Simpkins, Tim Stevens, and Deb Strang kicked off Science Night by serving a safety-patrol sponsored spaghetti dinner. After dinner, students performed and Mr. Torres invited all parents to visit the student displays of science projects students had done since the beginning of the school year. Also on display were classroom animals (a breaded dragon, a hedgehog, and a tortoise) for hands-on activities; jars of different snakes, insects, lizards, etc.; and a bone exhibit of skulls of crocodiles, a dog, a horse, a bull, a squirrel, etc., presented by Nate Vega, an Interlachen High School student. Marion Mathis, 5th grade teacher, took pictures and the P.T.O. sold baked goods during the evening to fund future projects. There was lots to see and do and the evening was a great success! Mr. Torres ended the evening by saying thank you to all the parents, students, and volunteers who participated!
